Green class went to a beautiful Victorian orthodox Jewish synagogue in west London. We learnt about the Torah and Jewish customs.

Green class went to Acton and spent a very cold day learning about the Zen garden.

We were also lucky enough to watch a tea ceremony, and even try some green tea and japanese sweets afterwards!

We chopped the vegetables, ripped the mackerel, laid the nori, squashed the rice, rolled it all up, sliced the rolls and finally ate the sushi!

As part of our connector this term, we tried on a pair of traditional japanese shoes. A little bit like a flip-flip mixed with a clog!

In French, we looked at how epiphany was celebrated, and how the Bible talks of the arrival of the three Kings. In the french tradtion a 'gallette' is eaten, and someone is crowned king/queen when they receive a figurine in their slice.

As part of science we sorted materials by their different qualities, thinking about whether they were manufactured or natural. This was very difficult as some fell into more than one category.

We used mud and water to colour the walls, and twigs and leaves to make the roof.

We asked each other: 'Tu aimes...?' replying 'J'aime.../ Je n'aime pas...'
